I've felt a couple earthquakes in my time, all in the south USA and I can affirm, they really freak you out.

They're semi-rare in OK but they do happen. I've experienced ones in rarer places than that.

The really freaky part about them in my opinion is how they make the ceiling make all these crackling noises.

If you were outside, it probably wouldn't be as scary unless it was a super big earthquake.

Lastnight as I was going to sleep, I saw this strange wavy, colorful pattern when I closed my eyes, never seen anything like it before.

It looked familiar and it took me a while to figure out what it reminded me of...



Looked like the magnetosphere.

And apparently around that same time, those solar flares he mentioned were happening.
