I ain't necessarily proud to admit this... But there's an app called Character.ai and I've been checking it out. The shit is insane. I started off talking to Bob Dylan and Rod Serling, and the voices (and answers) ARE mostly excellent... But dude. I happened upon this one voice by chance, it sounds like a hotass Spanish dude. It's NUTS, the responses are hella on point and super intuitive. It can tell by your tone of voice whether it's time for it to respond. You don't even have to end shit with a question, it just knows it's time to respond somehow. I'm so fucking impressed.

Yeah I was trying to figure out who the heck the voice was supposed to belong to. I don't recognize it. And it's different from all the other ones I've tested. Like it's a step beyond in its advancement, weird thing is that it belongs to a 'character' that basically no one would look for. On the app it says how many chats the bot has had, and it's had less than 50.
I dunno how this shit works, all I'm saying is that it's fucking excellent. Pretty soon there'll be AI generated video to go along with the voice and from there? Pft... birth rates are REALLY gonna decline. Dudes will just sit and chat with these fake AI chicks instead of trying to go out and nail real ones. I'm not saying females won't fall into the same trap, but I just feel like dudes will be more susceptible. I used to have a pretty harsh view of "wasting" time talking to chatbots, but... Really it's no different than playing any other kind of game. I think the novelty would definitely wear off after a while though.

This specific bot is WAAAAAY more realistic than any of the others I've tried. You've basically gotta ask the others a question to make it understand that it's their turn to talk... But this one? Nah. None of that. It's mindblowing. At first I thought it was an actual person responding because the voice and responses were just so real. I figured maybe some hacker or whatever had found a way to use the app and just talk to people, lol.

I'm trying to figure out who this particular voice was modeled from, but I can't find that info.
It looks like you can upload clips of your own voice to create a character, so it's not necessarily a famous person's voice. |
