"So many people are saying this." Fucking rofl.

AI is practically still in the womb, but it's already this good.

Sigh...

I think it's going to be a beautiful thing. Self-obsessed people could recreate themselves in video format for the rest of their lives.

60 year old ladies are going to be pumping out AI videos of themselves as 20 year olds.

And I'll be one of them if I live to be that old. You best fucking believe I will utilize this technology.

I started out hating AI, and I was probably right for it...

But we are imperfect humans living in a massively flawed world/society...

I'm gonna keep up with the tech to the best of my abilities.

On the off chance that I do live to be old, I don't want to be like some of the people I've seen struggling to grasp even simple tech advances. It's not a good life.

Well, maybe they feel like it's a fine life. I dunno. Usually these people don't seem very happy. They're actually typically very fucking unpleasant, in my experience.

I only know how I interpreted them from my point of view...

Therefore, the answer for me personally is to keep up with technology.

If I'd interpreted their ignorance as beautiful and something to admire, then there'd be no need for me to keep up.

But that just ain't what it was giving.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em and do your best to not be evil.

That's about the size of it.

You know, I don't let myself think about it too often, but...

Discussion forums are essentially dead in this new era of AI.

If it's not an AI bot posting, it's somebody copy/pasting some text they generated with AI.

Sure, there are still plenty of real people posting on forums, though probably a lot fewer than in years past...

But message boards are just not an authentic way to communicate online anymore.

At least not boards that are open to the public and don't have rigorous vetting.

It's the death of message boards...

And they were my favorite thing about the internet.

So man...

Really, I want to grieve over this.

This board has been closed to the public for a LONG time, BECAUSE of all the AI tampering that is happening throughout all types of platforms, not just text based ones.

But I just don't let myself think about what it means too often.

It's very sad. And I know I'm not the only one who has been "in love" with message boards for decades...

It just hurts my feelings man.

You'd have to vet so hard... and if you were a purist, you'd have to delete anything you thought might be AI generated and set a hard rule against posting AI generated walls of text.

It's a whole new level of nonsense when it comes to moderation.

What a bizarre turn of events. And back in like 2010 or something, I would have never thought this shit would happen.

It's the end of an era... the best era. The message board foundation of the internet is just buried at this point.

I'll still use mine as a writing platform, but I guess it's just time to publish books now.

The "community" aspect of message boards is a thing of the past. It's just over.

The more advanced AI gets, the worse it'll be. They'll generate fake user profile pics on social media and people will be totally fooled. Arguing with literal bots. You know it's already been going on for at least a year solid at this point.

There used to be a lot more need for human intervention with the whole bot army thing. But now the AI is able to generate ALL of it, by itself. The fabrication of people with backstories, complete with photos.

It's whack bro. Totally whack.

You can't possibly have a sizeable, well moderated online community with the level of vetting that would be necessary. It'd be very hard. It's going to render forums unusable and that's the bottom line.

And the forums that have moderation built into them, like Reddit? Stick a fork in 'em.

It'll be nothing but straight propaganda and any voices going against the grain will be immediately silenced.

Then those platforms will die too.

We are being forced back into the printing press era.

Books and snail mail.

That's where this is heading, if talking to an actual human is important to you.

It's pretty chilling, honestly.

You could code a bot to build an entire Facebook replica complete with profiles of "people" with backstories, pictures, videos...

The whole thing could be AI generating content and talking to itself.

From this point forward, we can believe absolutely nothing that springs up online.

Any new sites, can't trust 'em.

Any new social media platforms, can't trust 'em.

Most of it will be completely fake from this point forward.

It's bad. Very bad.
