I only listen to 'em at night when I'm going to sleep though.
I listened to a preview of a Catherine Coulter book the other day and it was like some soap opera melodrama shit... https://www.amazon.com/False-Pretenses-C...B00AZV20MU And apparently these books by CC were "performed" in the late '90s... So this audiobook thing has been going on for a LONG time. It's like old school radio or something. I just had no idea this was a thing.

Wow. So cool man.
Fuck audiobooks, I'm so mad I ever listened to one. Now I wanna hear more.

My first audiobook ever was "The Creative Act" by Rick Rubin...
https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Act-Way-...B0B3L8W1JJ I only listen to audiobooks that perform well in bed. Like nice even, soothing voices that don't vary too much in volume. Rick's book would be good for that. Granted I can't really imagine listening to an audiobook in any other setting. I guess it'd be cool if you were sewing or doing some other kind of project with your hands that also required that you LOOK at what you're doing... But then it's like, why not music instead? And some people listen to audiobooks while they're driving, but for me? Hell naw. I need LOUD, TACKY music while I'm driving. There's no other way. I don't think I'll start listening to audiobooks outside of the bed. But that's bad enough. |
