I think after old Rex called Donny a moron behind his back , it was decided he would be fired but perhaps Donald let him stay a while longer just to see how deeply a traitor Rex really was . I never trusted the fucker ever since I learned he was a boy scout president .

Pompeo isn't a career CIA guy though. He was a Tea Party Republican congressman before Trump appointed him last year.
The reason Tillerson is leaving is most likely because he was pursuing his own agenda, and there's not room for two bosses in the administration.

i'd also argue that if pompeo was on the side of the good guys, why the hell would he abandon the top post at the CIA? would that not be a true position of power and change, one to be held on to at all costs? would that not be a position far more impactful than his new one?

CIA has been a revolving door for politicians on their way up the ladder for the past few decades. State has an awful lot of clout too. Look at all the shit Hillary was up to in her short time there.

If he's deep state, he can do major harm regardless of whether he's at CIA or State. They would probably have a strategy for placing people where needed, one that has nothing to do with his personal ambitions. |
