there's not much i can say due to NDA.

the level of engineering and detail for milspec craft is spectacular. i worked with a lot of very intelligent and good hearted people there, i miss them. that job kicked my ass mentally, for those unfamiliar with the anagram it's Quality Assurance DOCumentation. that means tracing every component of a mechanism from raw material, to refined material, to fabricated component, to refined component, to testing, etc etc. production is compartmentalized so i am only familiar with a certain mechanism, but it was a doozy. i was processing thousands references and links in detail daily. my mind was mush when i got home.

i've always liked legos and building shit, but when it comes to an entire carrier, or sub, the engineering is nearly incomprehensible. while they are generally used for nefarious purposes, those things are absolutely marvelous.

the most fucked up part from that job was the fact that it was owned by foreigners. i'm not sure why that's legal. everything i touched was NOFORN [No Foreign Nationals] at the very least. so [in theory] the owners of the company couldn't view their own work. *shrugs*

it gave me an interesting perspective when the fukushima incident occurred. the media [and most people] have no fucking clue how nuclear reactors work, but that doesn't stop them from spewing a load of horseshit. those things are safer than the batteries in your cell/laptop.
