What do you think?
When did concerts start?
What's the purpose of touring around and singing the same songs over and over?
And I mean beyond the MK Ultra mind control crap...
Even bands who aren't mega famous and whose songs aren't played on the radio still go around putting on concerts.
Why do they do it? Do they do it because everybody else does it? Because it's "the thing to do"?
Or is it because to put on a show in such a way is in human nature?
Do these people who go around singing the same songs over and over enjoy it?
What's the deal?

I think they are fucking awesome if you catch a good one. I've seen some awesome ones but my favorite was the entire Dark side of the Moon album played by Roger Waters. I lost my proverbial shit that night.

I was thinking that explains most of the tendency to tour around doing concerts...
But it doesn't explain the little known bands who still put on shows even though they're not famous.
I would say just the hope of fame is the reason they put on shows.
These rather elementary concepts do explain it.
But I wonder how far back the tendency to put on concerts really goes for humanity.
It is built in? I guess it must be... I guess I'm just trying to understand the motivation.

It's the beast within that wants what others have. The puppet masters dangle the carrot on the stick as they sit on the backs of the one who burns with desire. Do you think shows like MTV cribs was just so we could see how the rich and famous live? No its designed to fuel a burning desire within all, but they can't allow everyone to be rich and famous they just want you to always believe you can have it. I've said too much. I told my daughter that it's not you learning your environment it's your environment that's learning you. They know us so well they know exactly what to dangle in front of our faces in order to get what ever reaction they want. happiness is an internal response to an external stimulus. as such, it is fleeting. one must continuously receive the appropriate external stimulus to keep it going, often in increasing quantities/qualities much like a chemical addiction. what should be focused on and cultivated is the internal state of joy that exists independent of external stimuli.
as for concerts, i've only been to a few. they generally do not interest me as they are so commercial and packed with so many people, which may be a pro to some. there is something to be said for a live performance, however. the emotion and energy can be received from the performer in a much purer state as opposed to recorded media, but this requires them to actually be playing instruments and actually singing. too much of the pushed trash is just lip syncing and air-playing.

Emotions are so manufactured anyways. Most of all the emotions that everyone expiriences aren't even real. Emotions are used to manipulate us. It's all about finding joy.
