I’ve heard of them but I’ve never checked out their videos because I don’t fucking care about that stupid shit...
I only started watching Zane’s vids because he’s special and so much bigger than all that Slab City/Hobo crap.
Whoever those people are will never be able to do what Zane does and ultimately they won’t have staying power, or at least not the kind of recognition Zane will have.
Nobody is doing what Zane is doing... nobody can, he’s a pioneer. He’s the real deal.

Noob here, actually Ive seen many of the pages on this thread but watched very little of Zanes videos.
For the life of me I cant even find the guy interesting enough to watch, and truthfully I have tried, but to me the only entertaining thing about this is the commentary here... Ive come across many attention whores on youtube and rarely do I find myself keeping up with any of them, but the scenery around them has always cracked me up and sometimes I have been able to gain insight from looking at it feom that angle.
What exactly is Zane doing?
What is Zane a pioneer ever in?
You say he is big, how so, to whom and for what reason aka what will he be known for?
Staying power?
The real deal in what way exactly?
Are his fans people who are entertained by his life yet people who just ride his coattails and give him rides so they can be on camera for their 15 minutes of fame and part in in Zanes story? I see that as intelligent use of leveraging fan base but how is that groundbreaking or earth shattering?
Im not at all saying that there isnt something to it, I honestly dont know and I suppose that ther e could be but I just dont see it, as a matter of fact it would seem to me to fit the pattern that plays out on youtube on a regular basis over the years, from my very limited vantage point.

Zane fuses pioneering internet entertainment (the new era of which replaces Hollywood and its fakery with REAL entertainment) with feats which I doubt 90% of other humans could ever accomplish... hell I’ve had my doubts that he even really is human. The shit he can do is insane.
We’ve watched Zane broadcasting his travels from the middle of the sweltering desert, sleeping in the wilderness with absolutely zero protection from the elements, walking miles upon miles in the middle of nowhere in places I didn’t even know had cell service let alone the ability to stream live with some semblance of stability.
He puts together these bitchin’ mobile battery packs and game plans these epic broadcasting boxes so he will be able to basically get online from anywhere. He’s a literal genius.
He’s DETERMINED. Determination is a quality that you just don’t see in such raw and true form like this very often.
There’s a lot that could be said about what he is doing and why he is so groundbreaking.
But rather than having it explained... just sit back, and watch.
I would watch but honestly its not really interesting at all to me, based on what Ive seen it doesn't seem entertaining and I dont tend to associate attention whoring with realness, though the two can coexist. I do admire cleverness in a MacGyver sense, being able to take mostly nothing and make something, so I'd say that's pretty cool, in the same way I enjoyed hearing from a friend who got out of prison talk about the same.
I have a friend who backpacked from florida to the Sahara, and that was interesting to me because he was an attorney and he was til to do so by his elder, he didn't youtube it but he did write about it, but that was really interesting to me because there was a reason, and essentially what came out of that I literally in the history books, however small it may be recognized or significant.
Im just not easily entertained I guess, and perhaps I just dont see the genius in a man abandoning his kids to act like a kid himself. I suppose if I was 20 it might be entertaining to me but I just dont see the value in it, for me personally. There are people I admire on youtube who arent necessarily entertaining as the main purpose, but I see the value in it, and I happen to be entertained by that. I think one of the downsides to youtube and social media is that flaming of the fans of degeneracy, unless he somehow becomes an actual youtube star and somehow managed to end up caring for his children, I can't imagine they end up admiring what he is doing, and that would seem a better indicator of success that what a few emotionally invested but in reality shielded from the consequences people watching youtube opine.
And in regards to determination, crackheads are determined to get crack, my point being, Im not sure what he is determined to do other than connected to the internet, & party, so determination alone doesn't do it for me.
Here is what I notice... and how these things typically play out.
Typically there is some sincerity in the beginning, and over time popularity. And with that comes new raw and real and interesting change of reality, which breeds more popularity with existing fans along with new fans. The attention whoring begins but its like a credit card, at this point the limit is low and the interest high, but in time it balances out, the limit gets raised amd the interest becomes more favorable. At this stage all is still more or less genuine and sincere, often, and more growth and another wave of fans come in. It's usually around this point that it starts becoming entertainment value oriented and the substance of actual value starts dropping. At this point one has to use the credit card wisely, make good financial decisions or in this case, substance of actual value backing the entertainment value because what eventually happens is that it becomes repetitive, and to avoid the downtrend one has little to no choice but to muddy the waters between 'reality' based entertaining and scripted, a manipulation of the audience. The original fans will be the forst to see this and start dropping off, some of them will attempt to expose but this to will take time to gain momentum. The second and third wave fans will see it through for a while but when and if the second wave fans drop off, now that credit card has its hook, and the leverage against the person holding it. Eventually the downtrend becomes entropy and the person spends way more time and energy than its worth for the sake of entertaining 3rd wave fans who tend to be gullible, for little reward, as they also have to deal with all of the legit criticism and the over the top trolling. Then performance becomes that of a has been before dropping off completely, and what remain temd to be criticism and chopup vids as often times they delete their channel.
Maybe Im wrong, maybe he provides more than guilty pleasure entertainment, or maybe he somehow manages to break the above pattern that so many haven't, maybe he manages to make this actually work, by turning this in to something of substance if it lacks it now...
Or maybe this is bread and circus where the fans are actually playing a part in his downfall, under the impression that they are just witnessing 'reality'.
I think what makes zane so great is his ability to endure-happily most of the time- living outdoors with extremely limited supplies combined with his ability to engage almost any person he runs into in a positive manner ...that combo is pretty rare , plus he stays relatively sane through it all and pours his heart out
Watch this, they are trying to turn the internet, the whole internet into the NEW TV!
There is many people who are against this, zane is but one of the independents non scripted non faked there is many.
The corporate bitches know there is an audience and ad money to be made with small niche followings and they are snapping it up.
But real stuff like Zane they will never touch its to politically incorrect. It will eventually become harder to tell what is real and what is acting.

Zane is entertainment for people who can think for themselves and aren’t pussies.
That rules out a lot of people who suck anyway.
