Fucking NOTHINGGG I've ever heard him say is groundbreaking. It's all shit I've heard a ton of other people say... shit that a ton of other people have been saying for like, SOOO much longer than he has.
In fact, every time I've ever heard Elon talk, I've thought "Holy shit, how is THIS GUY running Tesla? LOL!"
I dunno...
Maybe it's just impressive to sheeple.

Really this is more of a critique on people who, as I said, essentially seem to worship the fricken guy.

Because he LOOKS good. In my personal opinion.
And he seems like he'd be fun to get stoned with.
It's impressive to sheeple because he's produced tangible high tech gadgets like electric cars and rocketships. People are overly obsessed with technology. It's not as impressive when some random guy on YouTube says it because it's just some random guy sitting in his basement surrounded by broken space heaters and microwave ovens.

There are people in Elon's position who are watching that guy in his basement and listening to what he has to say.
The real illusion here is the illusory position of "power" or "renown".

Here's an example I found particularly disgusting. You know how record companies like to sue people for copyright infringement, right? Well, one time a major label artist stole a song verbatim from an independent artist. The record company lawyers were like, "It's okay because he can't afford to sue us."
That's the problem with society today. People's moral code is based on whatever the law will let them get away with, rather than an innate sense of right and wrong.
