Peace Pilgrim: Mildred Norman Walked Across The Americas For 28 Years

I was intrigued and looked into the Peace Pilgrim a few years ago, but I just really wasn't ready to go down the rabbit hole. I thought it was all very strange. 

I watched a short interview of Peace Pilgrim, and I just didn't know how to feel about her. Something just seemed strange to me. I couldn't dig it at the time.

But last year, I discovered Zane Greene, who was traveling across the USA mostly on foot...

This gave me a palatable example of a person who was doing the same kind of thing as Peace Pilgrim, and I have warmed up to the idea of studying her a bit more since then.

I've decided to look a little bit more into the topic and examine what is available on YouTube...



0:05 I find the way she walks pretty interesting. The body language says a lot, I see a nature of wonder. I can relate to that in a lot of ways.

Where the hell did she sleep though?? I just don't get it. Maybe I'll learn more about it as I watch these vids... I hope so. Because that's what bothers me most about her whole story. If I can't make sense of that... then I just don't believe you, straight up. I mean did she do it Zane style? Did she legit just crawl into a bush and sleep there? I just don't fucking understand. And that makes me suspicious.

2:57 she says she's going to tell about the one time she was ever 'hit' in her (at that point) 26 years of pilgrimage. It's so sad that she ultimately died in a car accident... all that walking and wandering and blind faith, to have her story conclude when she was killed riding as a passenger in a vehicle.
