This whole "you can't get a new one" issue is problematic in some scenarios... say for example you needed a new vehicle. Well, you probably wouldn't be ABLE to get a new one (for one reason or another), or if you managed to, something would probably go totally wrong with it in one way or another. Most likely though, you'd be "stuck with" whatever you already have, in whatever state of operation it may be in.

A more sort of 'unfortunate' example would be anything mechanical that keeps people alive, within the body or outside of it. These things are also subject to being influenced.
