I generally agree with the sentiment, but I have found a few gems amongst early 2000s records and films. Late 50s to early 2000s seems to be my personal niche, but I won't set any hard boundaries.

I completely agree with you, there is some excellence in the early 2000s. One movie that comes to mind is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" which was released in 2004. The latest one I can think of which I found pretty decent was "Wanted" from 2008.

And this is what I've been doing in my home with all of the vintage gear, media, accessories, and decor I've collected. I'm trying to recreate an authentic 80s-ish environment, with a few modern touches that I feel are a natural and appropriate progression of the accepted order.
