Japan's leading infection prevention specialist, Dr. Kentaro Iwata, was kicked off of the Diamond Princess for suggesting that proper quarantine procedures be followed.
The quarantine aboard the Princess is being run by bureaucrats. None of the medical personnel aboard are trained in infection prevention.
There are no separate "green" and "red" zones aboard the ship.
Items are being casually passed between infected passengers and unprotected crew members.
Some health care workers aren't wearing protective gear, and are returning to their hospitals in Tokyo after leaving the ship.
Foreign passengers who have tested positive are being flown home to their native countries.
