According to some information I run across years ago, the lowly television set
was originally invented as a means of "channel"ing spirits. This was what, back in
the 40's? When it "failed" they just decided to use it to broadcast "programming".
All those 'channels' and all that 'programming'. God only knows what they've
been able to do since.
