Cuz it WAS an amazing fucking movie.
I guess it's just a bunch of symbolism.
I really think the main idea of the story was to push home how powerful young love/first love is and what an impact it makes.
It wasn't supposed to be a real life scenario in a literal sense, I guess it was just supposed to be figurative.
And like I said, I get it... I understand about the young love thing, yeah it does stick with you.
The only difference is IRL you go on to have other relationships, good experiences, bad experiences, all kinds of weird and whacked out shit...
But in this movie, in the case of this story, I guess all that stuff was left out to make a strong point. So okay that's fine I guess.
