But when someone is in this bad of life/financial shape it's very difficult to climb out. It also gets harder as you get older. Being broke at 40 is not a good place to be. A friend of mine committed suicide a couple of years ago, because he was in a similar situation at 40. He lost his drivers license due to a few DUI's, then got fired from his job. He couldn't replace the job because he could not drive. He was also flat broke. It just starts to seem overwhelming. Ray also doesn't have a car right now.
I don't think he's beyond help.
