It also gets harder as you get older. Being broke at 40 is not a good place to be. A friend of mine committed suicide a couple of years ago, because he was in a similar situation at 40. He lost his drivers license due to a few DUI's, then got fired from his job. He couldn't replace the job because he could not drive. He was also flat broke. It just starts to seem overwhelming. Ray also doesn't have a car right now.
You'll get no argument out of me on that. It is a very tight spot.
But I really feel, even in Ray's case, that there are enough resources
available that he's at least got a glimmer of hope. He's still got his
physical health [able to walk, bend, lift] and I've personally seen
enough of him in his videos where he's lucid and "together" enough
to still be a functioning member of both a work force and society.
The financial woes of late DO factor in and make a lot of it more difficult
and probably in some cases, impossible, but Ray doesn't have to end up
as just one more sad statistic, I guess is what I'm saying. But he'll have to
act NOW! Every day that goes by is a day lost. His best work would be to
stop dwelling on all the bad shit once he's vented.
He should make it a ritual. Every time he makes/posts a "vent" video, he should
go for a walk, weather permitting. Let it be symbolic AND literal, fresh air and endorphins
as a reward to purging all the negatives. Develop a habit of doing that and allowing
more positivity to take hold. It CAN be done. I've seen it happen with others and
with myself. I really hope it begins to happen with Ray.
