I'm about 50/50 on this. I love the sound of female vocals.
But most of all, I have to like the "sound" of a vocal performer
in order to really listen to their music.
Take for instance, Megadeth. I love Megadeth. But I've never been
a fan of Dave's vocals. I just, they just don't work for me. Not hating on
Dave at all, he's a phenomenal musician! It's just that vocals really top the
song like icing on a cake and if you don't like the icing, then you gotta
do a lot of scraping. And I don't think Megadeth has a lot of instrumental
songs. Or instrumental versions of their whole catalogue.
I'd really love to add a female vocalist to what I do, my music thing.
They really compliment music that leans in the heavy/aggressive direction.
