“In December 2015, the IAU announced the winning names were Chalawan for this star and Taphao Thong and Taphao Kaew for two of the planets (b and c, respectively).[12] The winning names were submitted by the Thai Astronomical Society, Thailand. Chalawan (Thai: ชาละวัน [t͡ɕʰāːlāwān]) is a mythological crocodile king from the Thai folktale Krai Thong and Taphaothong and Taphaokaeo are two sisters associated with the tale.[13] ('Chalawan' is also the name given to an extinct genus of crocodylian. It contains a single species, Chalawan thailandicus.[14])”
