MOST ANIMALS ARE NAKED

Think about dogs right, they all have different colored fur, but if you shave their fur they all have the same skin color.
I think so do cats. Yet we Humans when we started shedding our fur and not needing it our skin colors changed.
Of course this was due to VitD absorption from the Sun due to moving to different climates.
But I wonder why dogs n cats still need their fur when they no longer live in the wild?
Why their Genes haven't updated to get rid of fur? Maybe their fur is their clothes?
I mean there is the Mexican hairless dog which is genetically bred to have no fur but that is artificial.
