I had no idea you were such a huge Journey fan. As I said in the Eddie thread, and which you probably quoted somewhere in the TL;DR OP, they were my favorite band in high school.

Yep, I wanted to fucking BE Steve Perry.

I even got into other bands that had similar sounding singers, like Giuffria.

I am a Journey fan in the sense that I heard their songs on the oldies station growing up and knew they were one of the most iconic, unique, legendary, recognizable bands in history.

I didn't know who the lead singer was.

I only understood Steve Perry in recent years, solely due to second-hand obsession (my mom went through a Journey phase a few years back).

If I had TRULY grown up with Journey, in their heyday, I may feel differently about Arnel.

No one can (honestly) deny that he is amazing, but maybe I would have more of a sentimental allegiance to Steve.
