I'm sure he's made enough money in the past ~13 years to never have to work again anyway. He'll be fine in that regard.
But...
I could see Arnel getting mad if he really does find his vocal prowess isn't on par with the past.
That could be upsetting for him on a personal level.
I'm sure Steve understands Arnel's position better than anybody else ever could.
Undoubtedly, Steve figured it would happen to Arnel because it happened to him.
Jonathan is 70 years old... it's not like the rest of them have too much time on stage left in 'em either.
They got an extra ~15 years of life out of Journey thanks to Arnel.
I think they should all hang up their hats if Arnel can't sing to par anymore.
If they replace him with someone else, they're just gonna look ridiculous within 5 years or so.
Nobody wants to see those old dudes wheeled out, on stage with their walkers and shit.
It's been a great run, but without Arnel, I'd really say fuck it.
