There are no rules anywhere about when an exiting president is expected to leave the White House. It's all based on honor and decorum. Trump can literally "show up for work" on Jan 21st. Who does the law get behind in this scenario? How would the FBI or even just the police respond to this? What of the president's body guards? The answer is, likely, that it would split along loyalty, and then... well then we'd have an honest to God civil war that literally starts at the fucking TOP and trickles down.
People who say Trump would never do such at thing out of concern for his legacy don't have any understanding of legacy. They are fucking idiots.
