Anybody else have problems converting their thoughts to speech?

It's not so much deliberate verbal shorthand as an autonomic function.

It must seem to others that I'm jumping from a premise to a conclusion, and omitting the obligatory three paragraphs in between.

Whereas it seems to me that they lack a certain associative thinking faculty that I take for granted.

Associative thinking is what the mind supposedly does when a person isn't actively directing their thoughts. I guess I make the mistake of assuming everyone else is able to tap into it the same way I do.
