Males are the ones whose fertilizing goods spray forth in a fountain of abundance and with ease...
It only makes sense that we should save the sperm, whereas eggs are pretty well locked in there. Not really meant to be saved in this way.
As you said... eggs are finite. Sperm essentially never ends.
