I totally agree with Clif about this, and indeed I do believe this is how stuff moves not only through space, but through every element of existence...
Rather than just going forward, it kind of 'bobs'... LOL.
So yes, it is spiraling forth through space, but it's also kind bobbing back and forth at the same time.
More likely, it's "phasing" or what Clif calls the "pulse"...

Most likely it's sort of a gentle flicker, but the movements just seem so extreme to us because we're a small thing inside a bigger thing.
