She's very sweet so she would probably say he was her friend even if they only met a couple times or just had acquaintances in common.

If they'd felt a connection between them, I think they would have come together a lot sooner.

Seems like some kind of special marriage, not in your standard kinda way where it's arranged and whatever, but...

Almost reminds me of a beard situation, where they actually have a family together.
