OK, an update of sorts.
I'm really loving this painting shit, haha. Up to my fifth one and I've already gotten comfortable
enough to squeeze paint out right onto the canvas! Been using pieces of thin but sturdy cardboard
as a palette knife - to good effect. I won't be able to get truly roguish until tomorrow - when my real
palette knife and two 4'x5' drop clothes arrive. I wanted the 6'x9's but they were double the price
and I'm not opposed to cleaning up a little widely flung paint! Already had to do that several times!
Something I'm going to be adding to my arsenal - modeling paste! I wanna do some weird crazy textures
and shit! Also, maybe bottles of the liquid acrylic paints. Working with these very small beginner tubes
is great but by my third painting I was already feeling their limitations. So that'll be cool.
And those canvas boards look pretty neat. I want to try one out and see how it feels. What it's like to
work on a hard, solid surface instead of stretched canvas. I think it'll be pretty cool.
