It's been a long time since I've created a thread, here or anywhere else. I've watched, learned, listened, analyzed and observed humanity for a long time.
My position is this. I'm not with "you". Humans aren't my "team".
I like to consider myself with a different team. An... older team. Those who were here before humanity.
I represent Mother Earth, the animal kingdom, the sky, the trees, the oceans, the fish and the insects.
You see, "we" were here long before humanity and despite humanity's best efforts, will continue long after.
So... why now? What's my issue. There are so many, I wouldn't know where to start.
Let's just say, we have a virus problem. I don't mean Covid... I mean humans.
Yes, I know it's lame to reference a movie, but it was stated by Agent Smith, in the Matrix movie, and by God, it's damn true.
So, to make a long story short... I just want to start by asking a very simple question.
Is it absolutely "necessary" that all humans have the complete freedom to travel all over the globe?
Polluting the planet, wasting resources, killing innocent animals and insects with their cars, trains, buses, boats and planes.
So they can visit Aunt Edna? Or take a selfie in front of some iconic structure?
IS IT NECESSARY? IS IT IMPORTANT?
Who or what gives us the right to be such poor and irresponsible stewards of the planet?
I certainly didn't give my consent to that.
I'd be... curious... any thoughts on freedoms granted that negatively effect the ecosystem, the planet, the oceans, the air quality, the animals, etc...
Yet no one seems to even consider for a second that if they ceased most UNNECESSARY selfish behaviors, the world would instantly improve and be a better place for all.
