When I was a kid and whatnot, my bedroom was kind of interesting...
I lived in this big old late 1800s - early 1900s building, and the room I stayed in most of the time had been a front entrance of the building until the 1960s. Then they bricked in the entrance doors, and the windows that had been along the front. Inside the building, they covered the area up with a big framed in plywood dealio and some walls.
I used to think about how strange it was that the room used to be full of light and action, barely removed from the outside world at any given time. And the view from those windows, what would that have looked like?
But from the 60s on, the room never saw the light of day again. It was a very peaceful room though, in a basically soundproof building. You could sleep any time of day and never be disturbed.
