I think stock investing was a way less colorful and interesting world than crypto is...
With crypto, we can have a lot more fun and excitement identifying with the various coins, the ideas behind them, etc.
So much better than the cold and purely mathematical world of old school investing/stocks.
It's all about balance between the emotionless, coldness of original investing strategy, and the cults of personality/interest inherent in crypto.
