23andMe & Ancestry.com teaming up with social media giants to catalog userbase DNA

I'm like 5% conflicted about it because I did make this post on another thread recently...

Long dead Jane/John Does are being identified through the advances made in the DNA/ancestry field. Killers who got away with their crimes for decades are being caught. It does restore a tiny fraction of my faith in humanity.

But the nefarious reasons behind cataloguing DNA *no doubt* outnumber the good, humanitarian reasons.
