Watching it again with the sound off. Something seemed to shift hard, and I still don't know quite what it was. Johnny looked super stressed out at first, and Amber kept looking at him like "yeah, bitch", and yet the media forensics guy ended up seeming fairly harmless.
Since I very rarely have these kinds of lucid observations of people's energy state -- and when I do they've always been accurate -- I can only surmise that this guy represents something to Johnny and Amber that we aren't seeing. It's possible that he was recommended by Elon, and Johnny knew this, and was threatened because he wasn't sure what to expect, and Amber merely fed off that moment. Or... maybe I am overdue to be totally wrong on reading the mood of a room. I don't think so. Something was definitely going on, and it's something that is behind the scenes.
On the surface, he's just a social media forensics dude that only opines on math/data. But listen to his resume. Clearly he's not "just a social media forensics dude". He is "merely serving" as one for this context. He made it clear that he's been hired for this work 100's of times, but that it is his first court testimony. Which means he is NOT a professional witness. Johnny's lawyer went to lengths to make this very clear to the jury. I'm not sure why. I would think that would endear him to the Jury. So that means it was part 1 of something not executed yet by Johnny's team, imo. A chess move. Why would THIS be his first testimony? Why wouldn't Amber's team hire someone with years or even decades of court experience? Because he was 'brought in' from out of the loop of Amber's legal team. He was brought in by Amber herself. Total curveball that, for now, seems strangely innocuous.
In short: the degree to which he was ineffectual did not add up with Amber's defiant energy and Johnny's stress energy.
