America as a nation is too large to have a national government based on familial ties. Unless you want a Bush dynasty or a Clinton dynasty, I mean. You may as well have an emperor.

Most matters could be handled at the family or village level if the Federal and state governments would butt out.

You already have this hybrid hereditary/democratic solution among your large Nuclear families with many children, your Gated Communities, your Extended families, your White Enclaves, your Peasants and your Villages. It doesn't matter how Tyrant your Federal Governments are as long as all your Kinsmen stands with you if that means you all go to jail so be it you face whatever dangers that come as family owners .  The original family owners were the Chieftess and Chiefs of hunting bands.  Among the Brit Celts you have stories of a Chieftess who commanded War Chiefs and War Chieftains against Roman Legions
