"Gunsmoke" (1955) - Review & Commentary
S9 E16 - "Prairie Wolfer"

2:22 oh shit oh shit oh SHIIIIT, IT'S FESTUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AH MY GOD IT'S FESTUS!!! And he looks SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD. OMG he's so sexy. He's SOOOOOO SEXY. His voice and the way he looks and EVERYTHING is sooooo much sexier as Festus... https://imgur.com/a/TRTqngL

Make no mistake about it... despite his earlier appearance/first introduction, THIS right here is THE Festus. Of course his character will be refined over time just like the rest of them were (although they all started off solid in the first place). This is the Festus we know and love. As far as I'm concerned, this is really the first time we've ever met him.

3:10 OMG he's so damn fine, I CANNOT.

Why is Festus so sexy?!??!??!?!?!?

He's like... PERFECTLY intimidating. He's intimidating in this super weird, backwoods way that I've honestly never seen before, at least not on screen. Like wow. I'm blown away by Festus, dude. Like I said in the beginning when I knew fuck all about Gunsmoke, lmao... Festus is bestest. By golly, I was right. I mean, aside from the Marshal of course.

4:30 shit, apparently she likes what she sees too. I guess Festus is a hit with ALL the ladies. But WHY?!

5:05 maybe it's cuz he looks all rough and dirty, but he's got a quick wit and stands his ground with that personality.

5:10 lmfao the look on Chester's face, he thinks he's all gross and nasty, lol!!!!!!!!

6:28 "Well that's alright with me, dude." ROFLMFAOOOOOMG I CANNNNOOOTTTTTT. HE JUST SAID THAT. HE JUST FUCKING SAID THAT. HE REALLY JUST SAID THAT. Obsessed. I'm obsessed with Festus.

11:37 damn, this sheltered prairie bitch really lucked up hard... she's got THE Festus comin' up on her, it's just too bad he's cleanly shaven. Ah well, at least he's still dressed the part. He's sexier with the beard, but still a million times sexier than everybody else even without it... except for the Marshal of course.

12:00 yeah he looks different... we just discussed that.

12:09 oh whatever, you know you prefer him all dirtied up. I know I do.

16:16 no one is sexier than Marshal Dillon.

24:02 oh, Festus... I wanna see you in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE FOR THE REST OF THIS SHOW. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

24:55 he's going for the neck, hell yeah!!!!!!!

27:50 yeah, that's the love of your life right there baby.

28:50 oh wow... I guess there IS something wrong with her, lol. Like, hasn't she ever heard of a wolfer and what wolfers do?? What the heck??

35:27 I dunno if this is the right approach, but it's pretty hot.

Check out this article...

Quote:When Curtis was a boy, he remembered a real character he often encountered who went by the name of Cedar Jack, one of those town locals whose story everyone seemed to know.

Curtis funneled some of Cedar Jack's nature into his portrayal of Festus, creating one of TV Westerns' most iconic characters as a sort of tribute to this hometown legend who always stuck out in his mind.

In 1971, Curtis said he was still wondering what happened to Cedar Jack.

47:50 lol that was one of the best dying scenes ever!

49:17 God I love you Festus.

So epic. So good. So epic and so good.
