YouTube is purposely fucking up their comment notifications system because it is going to phase out the "Community" aspect of YouTube. In other words, it is selling out to become an internet television provider rather than the community that is based around YOUR videos that YOU share.
At this point, since they rolled out their new "Restricted Mode" version, many of the comments made in response to comments you leave on videos, and even comments on your own videos, no longer show up in the notifications either on the site or in email. Some comments still show up in notifications, and none of them show up in email.
The age of YouTube being a video sharing platform for the general public is over and done...
Time to move over to a viable alternative. I nominate http://vid.me. It's promising, has a good look and layout, and it's a super easygoing site. Get in early... go register and get your custom URL. YouTube is done, stick a fork in it, it's finished.
