S11 E3 - "Clayton Thaddeus Greenwood"
0:35 this announcer isn't as great as the other one was... hell it may even be the same guy, but he says it faster now, which I never prefer.
"Thaddeus" is a pretty righteous name though. The fuck does that name mean???
Mkay. Right on.
2:17 Jack Elam is wearing the most badass chaps ever. Or maybe they're wearing him.
3:11 man I don't think they should be fuckin' with this kid, he looks like he's got a secret and he's real happy about it.
4:40 damn, that other guy looks like Jack Elam's illegitimate son.
4:55 lol, he's gonna tuck that pencil behind his ear and stomp some ass.
5:20 epic as fuck theme on this new intro... if Gunsmoke started to suck, maybe I could stop watching. Too bad it just keeps getting better, huh?
11:20 damn he's good to look at though... Roger Ewing. And I'll be gosh darned if this isn't his first of 51 appearances as Thad, 1965-1967. Delicious.
12:30 "Right nice lookin' boy, ain't he?" Roflmfaolol!!! Even Festus is like oh hell yeah!!! "Kinda reminds me of myself when I was a youngin'." Actually, he kinda reminds me of Burt Reynolds. Doesn't look anything like him, but has the same type of strong willed character. They are reminiscent. Lmfao @ Matt, "Mmmhmm."
13:30 that animal cruelty though.
13:40 damn, the bass is kickin' this season.
16:45 Thad must be the last supplementary character until they bring in Newly.
17:08 Miss Kitty's lookin' like she wants to do a little motherin' to this feller. Thad's only one letter away from "Chad" you know.
17:40 "How tall are you?" Uh oh, well I guess now we know Kitty has a type.
18:40 he does have just about the cutest chin dimple I've ever seen.
29:20 this Thad guy has a damn near psychotic strength of will... I like it.
Roger Ewing is a very interesting case. Clearly a talented actor and a pleasure to watch on the screen... but the last appearance he had in any movie or show was in 1972. He's still alive today. He's a case of "no deal" on that crossroads agreement thingy, that would be my guess... https://www.sectual.com/thread-6662.html
Usually when a promising actor like this drops out of the game with little to no explanation, that's the reason why. They weren't willing to play ball with any evil agendas. That said, pre-1980s fame probably didn't have as many dark/evil requirements... they were there, but probably considerably less repugnant than they became after ~1980.
30:27 I knew Thad wasn't to be fucked with from that first scene in this episode.
44:20 the wrestling with the fake dog scene was done incredibly well for the time period... I'm impressed.
46:48 this was an excellent episode. Great introduction to the Thad character.
