S14 E3 - "Zavala"
This is one of the episodes that James Arness said was in his top 10 favorites.
0:48 so this is a revisiting of the cute little brick shack dwelling man and woman down on the Mexican border. Wonder where this place is supposed to be?
1:47 "Vaya con dios," I heard this once in my head earlier today. So weird. I only speak English and the only place I may have heard it would have been on the other episode that featured these two characters. I watched that 3 or 4 days ago. Let's see... it means "go with God" in Spanish. But when I put it in translate, I had it misspelled "via von dios" which said "walk with God" in Spanish, and "the way of the gods" in Latin.
3:27 I really don't like this guy, but then I guess we just aren't supposed to. He's never once played a likable character.
8:27 oh this guy's gonna get dealt with for sure.
10:50 oh... Zavala is the place where they're supposed to be. Lol. As far as I can tell, there's really no such place other than a park named Zavala on the Yucatan Peninsula, which I'm guessing ain't where they're supposed to be, lmao.
12:50 I can imagine how nice it would be to have Marshal Dillon as a rolemodel to look up to if you were a little dude kid.
14:50 this kid actor is pretty good with dialogue. Sometimes they suck, just being honest.
17:32 "Take off your shirt." Is he really gonna take his shirt off?!?!? That'd be crazy. They'd never show us that.
18:03 *scene fade* Of course the frick not. That's fine though. That's fine.
18:50 is it just me or was she thinking, "God dang, that's a fine man?!?!?!"
19:00 she's like 3 ft. shorter than him. She's 5'1"... https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0173125
19:11 is it me or was that a look of pity mixed with attraction?!?!?!?!
20:00 they've got him looking extra mega fine in this scene.
20:06 of course we know they really just want the Marshal around to kill the mean guy. They're pretty much using him. But I think she's assessed the Marshal and determined that he's probably strong enough and skilled enough to take the guy on. I think she part likes him, and part just wants to use him to kill the other dude. And who can blame her? That other guy has gotta go.
21:50 damn, that was fast!!!!!!
28:27 I MEHEHEHEHEEEAAAANNNNNN... are they implying something happened!?!?!?!?! There's DEFINITELY a vaguely romantic sense to all this.
29:33 lookit... https://i.imgur.com/UtqCUV2.png You KNOW she wouldn't look that happy if the Marshal really had just slept on the floor the whole time!!!!!!!
36:48 considering literally everyone's gun looks like that, I'd say that's not exactly compelling proof, lol.
39:55 the 'feel' of that overhead shot of the gun was very interesting. There's a definite sense of modernity sweeping into the show since it's 14 years on in its run at this time. Things have definitely changed since the early days of the show.
44:00 that's a mega funky '70s bassline... slappin', if I may say so.
44:40 well... she'll be obsessed in love with Marshal Dillon for the rest of her life.
49:40 yeeeah, I gotta agree... that was a pretty damn great episode.
