Scott and Bryan came here from Vegas in Scott’s mid-size pickup truck about a month before I got here.
Scott’s ex-wife and daughter live here, not far from the homeless shelters.
Bryan had a $31 million lawsuit judgment, and his attorney in New Orleans had somehow bungled transferring funds into Bryan’s account, resulting in Scott running out of money for motel rooms while they waited for the money to come through. Therefore they had to move into the homeless shelter.
Bryan was on the phone with the attorney everyday, calling him everything but a white man, he was so furious.
Except there was never anyone on the other end of the phone calls. Scott’s daughter became suspicious and confronted Bryan, who confessed the whole lawsuit thing had been a scam. He had been using his friend Scott the whole time, and Scott was now broke and homeless.
