I've given it a lot of thought and I'm pretty sure this song has mainly been used to boost tourism to Africa.
Like, the guy who wrote it probably didn't have that intention, I'm not saying it's a conspiracy or anything...
But I think it's undeniable that this song probably made a lot of people want to go to Africa and I bet they had a tourism boom for YEARS after it came out in 1982.
It probably still inspires people to go to Africa.
