Toto/Africa: What the fuck does this song mean?

I’ve never seen the video before so this is just about the song itself. To me it's a song that has always made me think of a special girl I knew a long time ago in Phoenix when the song first came out. The reference to Africa, in my heart , got connected to an old Doors song (her favorite band) when Jim Morrison asked "remember when we were in Africa?". Somehow that got all tangled up in my emotions for her when she left and forever after that whenever I've heard that Toto song I'm awash in memories of her, missing her still all these decades later. Probably sounds pretty stupid and wimpy I'm sure, but nonetheless that is what it means to me.
