White Sands and Meteor Crater are the top two lesser known places to see, in my honest opinion.
Everyone knows about the Grand Canyon (for example), and it's cool and all, but I'd take Meteor Crater over it any day.
Everyone also knows about Monument Valley, but I think it's actually under-hyped.
It's one of the most intensely magical places in the USA, IMO.
So my Top 3 are White Sands, Meteor Crater, and Monument Valley.
