I keep thinking about the fact that I didn't tell anyone about seeing a GIANT owl.
Maybe this is why a lot of people don't speak about their Bigfoot sightings.
Rather than the fear of being judged, maybe some people are stunned by the supernatural feel of it and it runs in the same vein as repressed memories...

Of course I'm not suggesting that seeing Bigfoot or seeing a giant owl or even seeing aliens is "traumatic" but I think the unexplainable nature of some of these experiences gets 'sorted' by the brain in the same way as trauma does.
So this may be why some people don't talk about their experiences. Seems like it takes years to talk about some of the stuff, and some people probably never do.
