Mary, or Mariah in the original Yiddish vernacular, was quite a popular girl's name at the time. Mary was to Roman Judea what Jennifer was to 1980s Australia.
Although Jennifer is my all-time favorite girl's name, and I hope to be one in the next life, or maybe one of my other nine lives, I must profess being partial to Bailey Quarters in that particular debate.
