My theory about Tom is that they don't have adequate blackmail on him to fuck him up in case they ever need to take him down, and that's why he went on Oprah etc. and acted crazy as shit...
If they don't have anything terrible enough on him, they can at least make him look like an unhinged psycho to knock his credibility.
