Everyone has a soul... some souls are just sheer taint.
So I am suspicious of the "NPC" thing, most recently popularized by the 2021 Matrix franchise movie which called them bots.
I don't think it's great to propagate the concept that some people don't have souls or whatever.
I'll always prefer the term "sheeple" because it doesn't inherently imply soullessness...
It just implies total idiocy, which is fair.
