As you know, I strongly believe advanced technology was discovered in Antarctica, anywhere from between the late 1800s to the late 1930s.
So if I determine that I think this guy is some kind of plant... I'm gonna see through that and IMO it'll only suggest the Antarctica stuff is true. He may be the only plant among these guys.
That said, okay so he's sorta crazy. Does that mean what he's saying isn't true? No, doesn't mean that. It's just that using a figure as someone who spearheads a huge information revelation campaign who is later disgraced (due to their reputation, etc.) is a known tactic.
It's a tactic that serves to "put off" disclosure of a certain aspect of the truth for a while longer.
