Yeah... I mean, I have no idea why they would want these land creatures. Going in line with the theory that they're INNER earthlings with advanced tech... there should be food sources subsurface that they live on. Would surface creatures even be compatible with their systems? It's kinda like humans eating grass... um, not good, doesn't work. But if they CAN eat surface/land animals... then it would make sense that they have their own trafficking/transport system set up. And of course they may eat humans (surface based land creatures) too.
