Cuz there are theories that we came from Mars to Earth after a catastrophe.
So it would only make sense that whatever heinous atrocities humanity was guilty of on its home planet, it brought that same behavior with it to this one...
And that could only mean that the same fate awaits us here, just the same as it happened on Mars.
