Wrapping up on the connections between Dexter and Mr. Robot, at least what I can remember right now...
Both characters:
1. Are vigilantes.
2. See ghost dad.
3. Started out disinterested in sex.
4. Collect memorabilia from their... activities.
5. Obsessed with privacy and discretion.
6. Have forgotten siblings.
Furthermore, in Resurrection, Dexter is sometimes sporting a black hoodie, Mr. Robot's signature attire... the piece belonged to a cyber security professional.
It absolutely is a nod to Mr. Robot.
Seems like in recent years, TV shows have been trying to take all the elements of PAST shows that were SUPER successful and mix 'em all together.
Brilliant in my opinion, and especially in this case, I don't mind it.
